Every wedding we attend as pet attendants is special, but Mr. & Mrs. Matthews’ gorgeous fall celebration at Stonegate Farm in Lapeer, Michigan, was one for the books! With the beautiful autumnal colors setting the scene, their stunning French Bulldog, Scarlett, stepped into the spotlight, proving that a wedding isn't truly complete unless the couple’s four-legged best friend is by their side.
Scarlett isn't just a pet; she is family. Mrs. Matthews shared with us, the decision to get Scarlett was tied directly to their love story: "We decided to get Scarlett about two weeks after we bought a house and moved in together. We wanted some more craziness in the house, and Scarlett does just that! We also brought her home on our sixth anniversary date."
For the couple, including Scarlett in their wedding was non-negotiable. As her mom beautifully put it, "Scarlett is our whole world. She brings us so much joy and is always happy to go on our adventures with us. She is like our daughter, and we wanted her included on our big day."
Scarlett’s wedding day look was perfection! Dressed in a beautiful, custom dress, she confidently fulfilled her role as the flower girl, walking gracefully down the aisle. But her duties didn't end there!
She charmed guests before and after the ceremony and even joined Kim and Kristen for their grand entrance into the reception. It was a heartwarming day filled with special moments, but for the couple, the best part was seeing how happy Scarlett was. "Honestly, hearing about how well she did walking down the aisle, and hearing that she sat right where she was supposed to—even without practicing! I also loved including her in our pictures, and she was so happy and had a great big smile on her face."
The beautiful photos captured Scarlett’s pure, infectious joy, making every shot a perfect family portrait.
Mr. & Mrs. Matthews decision to hire Jackie & Joe's Pet Care perfectly illustrates the value we bring. They wanted their family and friends to be fully present, celebrating without any extra responsibilities.
"It took so much stress away from everything that needed to be done that day," the couple shared. "My biggest concern was I did not want someone to think they had a job that took away from the night in small ways, like taking her potty or making sure she ate dinner and drank water."
Our wedding pet attendant, Ashley, was dedicated to ensuring Scarlett’s day went off without a hitch. Kim and Kristen shared: "Ashley was incredible from the moment we first spoke on the phone; she wanted to make sure Scarlett was included in every aspect of our wedding that we ever dreamed of."
From ensuring Scarlett was safe during photos and walking her down the aisle, to providing late-night transportation back to the Airbnb, our full-service care allowed Kim and Kristen to enjoy their celebration fully. As they noted, "It was great knowing Scarlett was being taken care of and having someone with her all night."
